Full course description
Welcome to CORE 406/506 Cybersecurity Risk Quantification! This course focuses on the process of quantitative risk analysis and different methods that can be utilized in isolation and in combination. Quantifying cybersecurity risk is critical to effective risk management for any organization. Risk quantification supports the decision-making process. This type of analysis provides the research, data, and recommendations that lead to better risk-informed decisions. By using risk quantification, we make informed decisions about the allocation of resources, prioritization of efforts, and potential outcomes.
You do not need to purchase a textbook for this course; it will be provided with each module. At the beginning of the course, you will download a toolkit of models that you will use throughout this course. Each week, you will have reading assignments prior to completing the weekly exercises, assignments, and project-related deliverables. The course project is a culmination of the skills and tools that you will learn and use each week. I recommend you use the weekly allotted project time to complete project tasks to make sure your final presentation is complete and submitted on time.
