Full course description
Prerequisite: Completion of Basic Online Teaching Certificate
This course will focus on feedback in a broad sense: the communications between instructor and students throughout the course that help students know the course expectations and measure their own progress toward meeting those expectations. We will explore some of the principles behind online feedback, then delve into best practices for providing feedback and communication before the course begins, while the course is in progress, and at the end of the course. You will be asked to draw on your prior experiences with online feedback–both positive and negative–as we share ideas and try to put them into practice.
The time commitment during this 2-week course is approximately 5-6 hours per week. Participants will experience an online course from the student perspective while interacting with other faculty participants. The course will be facilitated by eCampus Online Faculty Associates. Participants may be eligible for a $250 stipend upon completion.
This course fulfills one of the requirements for the Intermediate Online Teaching Certificate.
